HOW OUR JEWELRY WORKS

A how-to guide on inserting, wearing, and removing our threadless, threaded and hoop styles.

DOWNSIZING

Fresh piercings start with a longer post to allow for inflammation. As healing progresses—typically 3–4 months—a shorter post is required. Posts are never cut; a new one is purchased, and your decorative ends remain interchangeable across lengths. Jewelry that is not downsized may snag or irritate the tissue, leading to friction bumps. The best way to know when it’s time to downsize is to consult your professional piercer, who can assess healing and recommend the proper change.

THREADLESS STUDS

Threadless jewelry uses tension, not screw threads, to hold the decorative end in place.
A thin pin on the jewelry end is slightly bent and inserted into a hollow post. The bend creates tension, so the end stays secure but can be removed by gently pulling it out—no twisting needed. This makes it easy to change tops while keeping the fit snug.

THREADED STUDS

Threaded jewelry has a decorative end that screws into the post, using internal threads to secure it.
Because it locks in place, it’s ideal for larger or heavier pieces that need extra security. You unscrew the end to remove it, making it less likely to come loose accidentally.

SEAMLESS RINGS

Seamless rings are a single smooth piece of metal with no hinge or clasp.
To use them, the ring is gently bent sideways to open, inserted into the piercing, and then bent back to close. This creates a continuous, gap-free look that’s comfortable and secure once in place.

CLICKERS

Clickers have a hinged segment that opens and “clicks” shut for easy insertion and removal.
The built-in clasp keeps them secure, making them great for everyday wear, especially in piercings where you want both style and convenience.
